The 'Smile' collection is inspired by the Japanese art form Kintsugi, in which broken objects are lovingly repaired with metallic lacquer to highlight their imperfect beauty. Kasun London saw this as a metaphor for resilience and designed 'Smile' with this in mind. Taking the form of a cracked but resilient smile, these earrings remind us that nothing is beyond repair. 925 sterling silver with 18ct yellow gold plating and rubies. Inspired by a rare 2500 year old roman coin depicting roman god Bucchus, known as the god of wine, celebrations, ecstasy, fertility and wild Nature. The God of Good Times Coin features drunk Bacchus, reclining on a donkey with one hand and on the other holding a kantharos full of wine. The reverse of the coin displays bunches of ripe grapes, surrounded by a roman word for wine ‘vinum’, where the english word ‘win’ come from.
